THE CHILDREN OF AFRICA ARE DYING

With famine and lack of clean water in Somalia and other regions of Africa more than 10 million people in desperate need of food, clean water and medical assistance in the region, countless lives are at great risk. 10% of children under five are dying every eleven weeks.

The drought and famine have affected more than 11.8 million people across Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia. Somalia has been the hardest-hit country in what is being described as the worst drought in the Horn of Africa in 60 years.

The UN has declared famine in five regions in Somalia. The international humanitarian response to the crisis has to be quick and generous. Selimiye Foundation of Melbourne is responding to this humanitarian crisis with an aid campaign to save lives by sending Australian donations to the region.
