ABOUT SELIMIYE FOUNDATION

Selimiye Foundation is an umbrella organizations that supports and sponsors many sub-organizations. Some of these organizations are Isik Colleges that have six campuses around Victoria, Selimiye Youth Support & Recreation Inc., Selimiye Building Construction Pty Ltd, Fountain Bookshop, Lotus Publishing, Light United Soccer Club, and Prestige Education Centres. Selimiye Foundation has organized many activities on the base of its unshakable belief in the productivity of investing in humanity.
The major achievements of the foundation are establishing schools where new generation of Australia's diverse society can learn not only about modern science and technology but also about diverse cultures and universal ethics and moral values.
Selimiye Foundation is a not for profit organization. The Australian Multiculturalism policy is strongly embraced by Selimiye Foundation. As such, all community and educational activities are designed according to this policy and aims to raise a Golden Generation who will become role models in the building of a harmonious society with multicultural values and mutual respect.
Thanks to Government grants and the generous donations of the community, the foundation has made significant progress since its establishment. The charter also organizes cultural fairs, festivals and fundraisers in order to provide scholarshipsfor students of all year levels.

HUMANITARIAN AID CAMPAIGNS

KURBAN AID CAMPAIGNS

The Foundation also organizes emergency humanitarian relief campaigns to countries where a natural disaster has occurred or to poverty stricken regions of the world. Selimiye Foundation also organizes scholarship donation and supporting underprivileged students campaigns on regular basis.

Since 1998, Selimiye foundation have sent humanitarian aid such as clothes, medicine, food, student stationary, toys and books to various nations around the world. Some of the humanitarian aid campaigns undertaken by the foundation over the years are as follows:

Year 1998
Food and clothes campaign for Bangladesh where a terrible flood disaster hit. Two containers of aid were collected and sent to the needy.

Year 1999
Aid campaign for the victims of 17 August Earthquake in Turkey. 36000 AU dollars were collected by our Foundation and Isik College and sent to the needy via the Melbourne Consulate of Turkey.

Year 2004
Clothes collecting campaigns for Africa and Thailand. Two containers of aid were collected and sent to these countries.

Tsunami relief aid to Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India and Thailand

Victorian Bushfire Relief Fund
Isik College and Selimiye Foundation joined forces and launched an appeal for the Bushfire victims. Selimiye Foundation also collected donations to provide humanitarian relief to those that were hit by the 2009 disasters in the Asia-Pacific region.

Once again, Selimiye Foundation joined forces with Isik College to collect donations to Pakistani flood victims. During the campaign Selimiye Foundation collected over $95,000.

As a great way of showing consideration for those who are suffering poverty, famine, drought, natural disasters and regional conflicts around the world, Selimiye Foundation has been collection Qurban meat donations on an annual basis since 1992.

During these campaigns, Selimiye Foundation utilizes the members of the community and media resources available to support this vital human aid project. These include broadcasting on television, advertising on ethnic papers, placing campaign posters on local shops, distributing pamphlets and even organising a collection competition among ISIK College students.

Selimiye Foundation organizes a special aid campaign once a year during Qurban Eid festival to provide some meat to the needy in many poor or war torn countries. Selimiye Foundation has been sending Qurban aid to many international locations since 1992. Prior to 1996 all meat donations were sent to Bosnia. Donations sent since 1996 are as follows:
